After his near record-setting junior season and performance at the Elite 11 Finals, Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback commit Air Noland was elevated to a five-star recruit, according to Rivals.

Rivals is the first of the four major recruiting services — Rivals, 247Sports, On3 and ESPN — to have Noland ranked as a five-star recruit. Noland continues his climb up Rivals' player ranking board, skyrocketing from his original 232nd ranking all the way to No. 20 — the third-best quarterback in the class of 2024.

Noland leap-frogged four-star offensive lineman Ian Moore, wide receiver Mylan Graham, cornerback Bryce West and running back Jordan Peoples in the Buckeyes' No. 2 2024 recruiting class, according to Rivals. He is one of three five-stars Ohio State has in the 2024 cycle, joining wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and defensive lineman Justin Scott, who are both ranked inside Rivals' top-10 rankings.

Noland is as accurate as any gunslinger in the 2024 cycle, completing 73 percent of his 323 pass attempts in 2022. His 4,095 yards were the third-most in the Peach State last season, as his 55 touchdowns were two away from setting the Georgia high school state record.

The Fairburn, Georgia, native led Langston Hughes High School to a 6A state title on a 15-0 record.

Noland announced his commitment to the Buckeyes April 8 and has been unwavering in his pledge, striking down any transfer rumors.

"That's a no-go," Noland told RJ Young on the "Number One College Football Show" July 14. "Me and my guys coach Dennis, coach Hartline, coach Ryan Day know, they know I'm locked in. They know all the commits that we have right now are locked in, so if you're a Buckeye, you're always a Buckeye. There's no decommitting and flipping if you're truly a Buckeye."
