WATCH: Jeremiah Smith 'Definitely' Going To Be At Ohio State In January

The Ohio State Buckeyes have seen Carnell Tate's growth, which is a byproduct of his early enrollment, and they'll have one of their top 2024 receiver Jeremiah Smith doing the same.

If all goes well for the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes, they'll be celebrating a national championship victory January 2024.

If not, they still at least have something to look forward to: five-star class of 2024 wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith. The Opa Locka, Florida, native said Saturday after Chaminade-Madonna Prep's 35-14 win over St. Frances Academy (Maryland) that he will be enrolling early to Ohio State to get to work as early as possible.

"I'm coming to Ohio State to be one of the best receivers to ever come through Ohio State," Smith said on ESPN's broadcast. "I'm coming. In January, I'm definitely going to be there, and I'm coming to work, definitely. Go Bucks."

Smith beat St. Frances Academy's man coverage on a corner route, leaping up and making the grab for a 14-yard touchdown on third-and-4, which gave Chaminade-Madonna Prep a 21-14 lead with 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. According to MaxPreps, Smith unofficially had two receptions for 19 yards and one score.

Smith is the No. 2 player in the class of 2024 and the top receiver in the cycle.

Despite the rumors of him flipping his commitment, he has remained consistent throughout his process in his dedication to the Buckeyes and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline. However, if Hartline accepts a coaching position elsewhere, that could lead to him rethinking his decision.

Smith outlined his fall visit plans after taking official visits over the summer to Ohio State, Miami, Florida and Georgia.

“Those two (Miami games), I’ll probably go to them,” Smith told CaneSport earlier this week. “Florida, I don’t have a game (picked out) yet. I’ll probably go to Florida State when they play Miami, and then Ohio State.”
