Ohio State Loses To Michigan? CBS Sports Projecting Buckeyes to Orange Bowl

It seems that CBS Sports is projecting a not-so-favorable outcome for the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the Michigan Wolverines

If the latest projections from CBS Sports are correct, fans of the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes are going to have a less-than-pleasant ending to the month of November.

The sports network predicts the Buckeyes will finish as the sixth-ranked team in the College Football Playoff (CFP), earning them a date with the Louisville Cardinals in the 2023 Orange Bowl on December 30.

Ohio State ending the year with such a low ranking (compared to where they've been the past three weeks in the CFP's poll) seems to indicate something will go array for the Scarlet and Gray before the regular season is over.

Pairing that conclusion with the fact the same CBS projections also have the Michigan Wolverines still in contention for the National Championship, and the answer to what happens between now and the CFP seems clear.

The apparent suggestion is that Michigan defeats Ohio State for the third straight year. This would make sense, as a victory for the currently No. 3 Wolverines would be enough to push them to No. 2 (the place in which they sit on CBS’ bracket) and knock the No. 2 Buckeyes out of the top-four spots.

Ohio State and Michigan take the field against one another next Saturday, November 25 at 12 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Before that game, however, the Buckeyes host the Minnesota Golden Gophers this weekend in their final home game of the season. Kick-off between the two Big Ten schools is set for 4 p.m. at Ohio Stadium, and will air on the Big Ten Network.
