Buckeyes Land Top Five Odds To Win 2023 National Championship
The 2024 campaign for the Ohio State Buckeyes is just two months away now as they kick off the season against Southern Miss in Columbus on Aug. 31st.
The Buckeyes are trying hard to forget about the disappointing end to 2023 that culminated in a loss to Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinal on a missed 50-yard field goal as time expired.
Fall ball hasn't even started yet, but most rosters are at least somewhat set around the college football landscape. It's time to focus on the upcoming season, and the Ohio State pursuit of a national title is just right around the corner.
According to those "in the know" that decide such things, the Buckeyes have a pretty good shot at that national title. Odds for teams to win the 2023 CFP were recently updated and according to Caesers Sportsbook, the Buckeyes have the third-best odds in the country at +750 to bring home their first national championship since 2014.
Maybe coincidentally, but maybe not, the two teams ahead of Ohio State per Caesers Sportsbook are the last two teams to beat the Buckeyes in the CFP.
Two-time defending champion Georgia is the favorite for a third-straight title at +220, while Alabama, who beat Ohio State in the 2020 national title game is second at +600.
Good news for Buckeyes fans as just behind Ohio State per Caesers Sportsbook is TTUN at +800. The Wolverines have beaten OSU the last two seasons, won the Big Ten two years in a row, and made consecutive CFP appearances.
LSU of the SEC rounds out the top five at +1200, but Brian Kelly's squad hasn't made the CFP since their national title run behind Ed Orgeron and Joe Burrow in 2019.
