Buckeyes QB CJ Stroud Combine Assessment Goes Viral

Already one of the highest-rated players going in, former Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud impressed to the point that one NFL scout had to go public with his assessment.

Each year, the NFL Scouting Combine is a place for ex-college players to show their value leading into the NFL Draft. Some players increase their draft stock, while others, either due to poor performance, or refusal to show up for some of the workouts, fall down NFL draft boards.

Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud is one who apparently has increased his draft stock dramatically. Already one of the highest-rated players going in, Stroud impressed to the point that one NFL scout had to go public with his assessment.

"One of the best Combines I’ve seen from a quarterback. Sometimes it’s the short throws that can be tricky. Not for Stroud. Everything was clean. His arm was effortlessly big. He measured well. Pretty much perfect," the scout said.

This should come as a surprise to no one who has followed college football and the career of C.J. Stroud.

Stroud passed for 8,123 yards in 25 games over two seasons for the Buckeyes, completing 578-of-830 passes. That's a 69.3 completion percentage.

The 6-3, 215-pound signal-caller also threw for 85 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions from 2021 to 2022.

Stroud only worked out in the throwing portions of Saturday. Still, despite never doing anything of the workouts that tested his athleticism, his precision and accuracy wowed those in attendance and watching on television.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, the broadcast partner of Rich Eisen, raved about Strouyd during the broadcast. "You couldn't script a better day for him throwing the football," Jeremiah said of Stroud on-air.
