Buckeyes Odds To Win National, Big Ten Titles
The Ohio State Buckeyes and coach Ryan Day are under a ton of pressure entering the new season. After consecutive losses to TTUN and just one appearance in the College Football National Championship in the past eight seasons, Day needs a deep run in 2023. Thankfully, the roster is stacked with talent, just as in previous seasons.
The Buckeyes currently boast +700 odds to win the national title in 2023. They're behind Georgia at +220 and Alabama at +600. And as they hope to recreate 2014's magical title run, sportsbooks have Ohio State at +180 to win the Big Ten title.
The Michigan Wolverines are looking for a Big Ten three-peat, but the Buckeyes might have something to say about it. Day returns several starters from a season ago including receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr. This year's game against TTUN is in Ann Arbor and Ohio State will most likely be the underdog.
Not counting the 2020 COVID-shortened season that saw the Buckeyes go 7-1, Ohio State has 10 consecutive 11-win seasons. With a new quarterback in place after the departure of C.J. Stroud to the NFL, Ohio State is projected by oddsmakers at -105 to make it 11 straight years of 11 wins or more.
The Buckeyes' only real non-conference test will be Notre Dame in late September, while the schedule also includes Big Ten opponents Penn State, Michigan State and Maryland at home.
