Ohio State Buckeyes S Josh Proctor, TE Gee Scott Jr. Receive Their Degrees
Several Ohio State Buckeyes athletes received their degrees on Sunday during Summer Commencement, including safety Josh Proctor and tight end Gee Scott Jr.
Proctor and Scott both received their undergraduate degrees in human development and family science after completing their programs over the summer.
Scott saw action in four games with the Buckeyes during the 2022 campaign, recording five receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown.
The Seattle native hauled in two catches against Rutgers on Oct. 1, 2022, and 16 yards on a single grab against then-No. 3 Michigan. Both of those figures were single-game bests for Scott at the end of the year.
Proctor was an active member of Ohio State's defensive secondary last season. The 6-foot-2 senior from Owasso, Oklahoma, registered 14 solo tackles (21 total) alongside two pass deflections.
During a primetime home game against the Wisconsin Badgers, Proctor recorded six total tackles (five solo) and batted down a pass as well. The Buckeyes emerged victorious, 52-21.
The two seniors were not the only members of the Buckeyes football team to be a part of Summer Commencement. Tight end Mitch Rossi, kicker Noah Ruggles and defensive back Lloyd McFarquhar wrapped up their graduate studies during the offseason.
Ruggles went 17-for-20 and 74-for-75 on field goals and point-after attempts, respectively, in 2022, totaling 125 points. Rossi's 16-yard grab against Penn State Oct. 29, 2022, helped Ohio State escape Happy Valley with a 44-31 victory on Halloweekend.
McFarquhar was with the Ohio State football program from 2018-22, transferring to Rice in the offseason. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in communications in May 2022.
