Ohio State Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson notched a 19-yard carry and notched another career milestone.

Henderson became the 28th Buckeye to eclipse the 2,000-yard career rushing total in the third quarter against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Henderson burst onto the scene as a five-star freshman from Hopewell, Virginia, earning the starting running back job his first year in Columbus. In his first career game, he only ran for 15 yards but two weeks later, Henderson set the freshman single-game rushing record with 270 and three touchdowns on 23 carries against Tulsa.

His 102- and 152-yard rushing games against Maryland and Penn State, respectively, helped pace him to a 1,248-yard season total. Henderson set the Buckeyes' program single-season freshman touchdown record with 19 scores — 15 on the ground and four through the air.

Last season, Henderson battled a foot injury that limited his ability to put his foot in the ground and go. He said he'd strengthen it back up for the game, but when he was hit for the first time, it would reset the injury.

He was limited to 571 yards on 107 carries — an average of 5.3 yards per carry — and six touchdowns in eight games. Henderson did not play in the Michigan game nor the Peach Bowl last season.

This year, he said his foot is "100 percent" healthy and it has shown through XXX games. He has shown the burst he flashed his freshman season, being able to cut a lot easier than he did in 2022.

On 13 carries against the Hilltoppers, Henderson has 88 yards and two touchdowns.
