Ohio State Buckeyes WR Marvin Harrison Jr. 'Undecided' on Status for Cotton Bowl, NFL Draft
Standout Buckeyes receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has been non-committal about returning to Columbus next season or entering his name into the NFL Draft. On Thursday, he indicated that he has not yet decided to play in the upcoming Cotton Bowl against the SEC's Missouri Tigers, furthering speculation that he may declare for the NFL Draft.
"Still undecided ... coming into this year, I wanted to beat that team up north and win the Big Ten Championship and obviously I did not do that this year. I think it's a great motive to come back if that's what I decide to do," Harrison said when asked if he would suit up against the Tigers or enter the draft.
After three seasons in Columbus and 38 games played Harrison Jr. could move on to the next chapter of his career, following in his father's footsteps. Marvin Harrison Sr. was a first-round selection by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1996 NFL Draft, taken No. 19 overall, and enjoyed a 13-year career in the league.
Harrison Jr. was previously undecided about leaving college and had some specific goals in mind that might help him make that decision.
Harrison is a Heisman Trophy hopeful and was named one of the four finalists. He's the only wideout to be nominated and the only non-quarterback position player. That award will be presented Saturday on ESPN at 8 p.m.
