WATCH: Ryan Day, Jim Knowles Preview Ohio State vs. Youngstown State
Ohio State Buckeyes coaches Ryan Day and Jim Knowles take the podium Tuesday morning to preview this weekend's game against the Youngstown State Penguins.
Day will speak first at approximately 12 p.m. Eastern Time, followed shortly after by Knowles.
There is plenty to talk about after the Buckeyes defeated the Hoosiers 23-3 on Saturday. Shaky performances could be found on both sides of the ball, including the quarterbacks, offensive line and defensive secondary.
It shouldn't be any surprise that the biggest questions on people's minds surround the relationship between Ohio State's two quarterbacks, as they have all offseason as well. Both junior Kyle McCord and sophomore Devin Brown took snaps on Saturday, though the number of reps heavily favored the former signal-caller than the latter one.
McCord served as starter for the Buckeyes, going 20-of-33 for 239 yards through the air while playing a majority of the game. The Mount Laurel, New Jersey-native threw one interception in the first half of the game, and did not record a passing touchdown.
Brown, on the other hand, went one-of-three passing for -2 yards over his seven total plays in the game. Day said during the post-game press conference that he had intended for Brown to play more than he did, but was more focused on getting the offense into a rhythm during the game's early going.
A majority of the questions for Knowles will likely be centered around the defense's ability to shut off outside runs. Despite limiting the Hoosiers to three points, Indiana had some success on tosses and handoffs around the left side.
The Buckeyes did record four pass deflections and six tackles for loss during the game, the most of which came from sophomore safety Sonny Styles. Graduate linebacker Steele Chambers led the team with six tackles.
Ohio State hosts Youngstown State at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, September 9. Kickoff is scheduled for noon eastern, and will air on Big Ten Network.
