Game Prediction: No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes At Maryland Terrapins

Who does our staff think will win Saturday's game between the Buckeyes and Terrapins?
In this story:

Second-ranked Ohio State hits the road for the final time during the regular season when it travels to "always dangerous" Maryland for a mid-afternoon kickoff on Saturday.

The Buckeyes are 7-0 all-time against the Terrapins, including 3-0 at SECU Stadium, though they barely survived their last trip to College Park, a 52-51 overtime victory in 2018.

That said, here's how our staff at BuckeyesNow expects this weekend's matchup to go down:

Ohio State Vs. Maryland Predictions

Brendan Gulick: Ohio State 48, Maryland 17

It’s the final tune up before the Buckeyes take on The Team Up North and I fully expect them to look like they’re ready for that revenge game. The rushing attack had its most productive game of the season last week, C.J Stroud’s leadership has been tested a bit during some challenging moments the few weeks prior and he continues to play at an extremely high level.

Obviously the Buckeyes health at running back is a concern, but Ryan Day seemed to indicate that they’re going to be in better shape in that room than they were in the second half last week. I expect the defense to get a decent test from Maryland, who’s offense at times has looked solid, but there shouldn’t be any sweating the one out in College Park the way we did a few years ago.

Andrew Lind: Ohio State 48, Maryland 21

Point blank, Ohio State doesn’t need style points, Stroud doesn’t need to put up ridiculous stats and TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams don’t need to play. All that matters against Maryland is winning, staying healthy and getting prepared for next week’s game against Michigan.

The Terrapins certainly have talent at quarterback and wide receiver to make things interesting for the first couple drives, but the Buckeyes are a much better team and will have a comfortable lead at halftime. Expect the benches to clear in the third quarter as the focus switches to the Wolverines.
