WATCH: Ryan Day, Jim Knowles Preview Ohio State Buckeyes vs Penn State Nittany Lions
Ohio State Buckeyes head coaches Ryan Day and Jim Knowles take the podium once again to preview this weekend's opponent: the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions.
The Buckeyes will host the Nittany Lions for their "Scarlet the Shoe" game, during which they will sport their alternate, all-scarlet uniforms.
Ohio State holds a slim lead over Penn State in their all-time series, having won 23 of their 37 previous games. The Buckeyes have been in control of things lately, holding an undefeated record over their last six meetings with the Nittany Lions dating back to 2017.
Day and the Buckeyes enter this weekend's game against the Nittany Lions boasting an undefeated, 5-0 record through the first six games of the season (includes Week 5 bye). Most recently, Ohio State pummeled the Purdue Boilermakers 41-7 on the road in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Penn State also comes into Saturday's contest with a perfect record, having bested teams like Illinois (30-13 on September 16), then-No. 24 Iowa (31-0 on September 23) and Massachusetts last weekend (63-0 on October 14). The Nittany Lions are averaging 44 points per game over these half-dozen affairs.
On Saturday, Penn State will be looking to defeat Ohio State on their home field for the first time since a 20-14 victory on November 19, 2011. However, a win for the Buckeyes means adding another game to their already longest winning streak in the history of the series.
The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes kick off against the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, October 21 at Ohio Stadium.
