Ohio State Buckeyes coach Ryan Day previews his team's final game of the season during a press conference at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

The No. 7 Buckeyes will take on the No. 9 Missouri Tigers at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 29 in the 2023 Goodyear Cotton Bowl from Dallas, Texas.

Ohio State's placement outside of the top-four teams means they will miss out on the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes qualified for the CFP last season, falling 42-41 to the then-No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs in the 2023 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia.

Day's Buckeyes ended the season with an 11-1 overall record. The lone loss for Ohio State came in the final weekend of the regular season, during which the Scarlet and Gray lost 30-24 against their archrival: the then-No. 3 Michigan Wolverines.

Losing to the Wolverines prevented the Buckeyes from playing in the Big Ten Championship game yesterday, which severely damaged their chances at making the CFP.

Ohio State and Missouri have met on the gridiron 12 times dating back to their first game against one another on October 7, 1939. The Buckeyes hold a 10-1-1 record against the Tigers and have a two-game winning streak that includes a 35-14 victory in their last game back in 1998.

The No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 9 Missouri Tigers will face off in the 2023 Goodyear Cotton Bowl on Friday, December 29. Live coverage of the game will air at 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN, from Dallas, Texas.
