Will Ohio State Break Streak vs. Michigan in 'The Game?'
Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes have something to look forward to this season.
According to Bleacher Report, the Buckeyes will triumph over the Michigan Wolverines in their meeting on November 30. This victory would break a Wolverines' winning streak that spans the past three games.
Bleacher Report writer Morgan Moriarty says one of the key areas that separates Ohio State and Michigan this time around is what they have done in the offseason. The Buckeyes have replaced several of their important pieces with just-as-solid players, while the Wolverines have not.
"Michigan will obviously benefit from a continuity standpoint from elevating Sherrone Moore as head coach," Moriarty said. "But we touched on all the losses Michigan will have from its roster. Ohio State, meanwhile, looks in great shape with returning starters and recent transfer portal additions."
Moriarty said the larger-than-expected number of Buckeyes starters who chose to come back to the team rather than pursue professional careers is notable. Additionally, Ohio State nabbed a lot of the best names available in the portal and the Class of 2024.
"The list includes receiver Emeka Egbuka, running back TreVeyon Henderson, defensive tackle J.T. Tuimoloau and cornerback Denzel Burke," Moriarty said. "From the transfer portal, head coach Ryan Day landed Alabama cornerback Caleb Downs, Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins, quarterback Will Howard and former Alabama signee Julian Sayin."
The location of "The Game" will also favor the Buckeyes, as it will take place on their home field at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
Moriarty ends her take by saying even though everything seems directed towards an Ohio State win, Day's hot seat will get even warmer.
"Ohio State should have the talent to get past a reloading Michigan this season," Moriarty said. "If it doesn't, that will put even more pressure on Day."
