Did Chris Holtmann Reveal Bronny James' Commitment Timeline?

The Ohio State Buckeyes already have four commitments from four incoming freshmen that are top-25 at their respective positions, but they would love to add combo guard Bronny James in the class of 2023.

The world has been watching intently on when and where combo guard Bronny James will commit.

Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Chris Holtmann was among the coaches and guests speaking at THE Foundation's NIL Spring Festival Thursday and he may have hinted at when James will make his decision in his speech.

“We have the finishing touches on our recruiting in the next week or two," Holtmann said. "We may add one more player. We just added a top-20 team that will come to the Schott in the first week or two. We cannot wait to get started.”

That's not to say it's a guarantee James will commit to the Buckeyes, as he has said where he goes is his decision, but it will indicate whether or not Ohio State's recruiting class is solidified at four or five incoming freshmen.

James narrowed down his final three options to Ohio State, Oregon and USC on Jan. 31 and received two crystal ball projections to the Trojans from 247Sports' Trevor Andershock and Chad Lykins on April 7 and 15, respectively.

The Sierra Canyon High School product participated in the Nike Hoops Summit in Portland on April 8, and throughout the week leading up to the game, James said that Oregon commit Jackson Shelstad.

James brushed it off as "fun times" and "good jokes."

"Talking to them, talking to the coaches, it's good to know that they want me there with them," James said.

Ohio State currently has the No. 8 recruiting class in 2023 with Taison Chatman, Scotty Middleton, Devin Royal and Austin Parks set to join the Buckeyes' current young core.
