Ohio State Buckeyes guard Tanner Holden entered the transfer portal Wednesday.

Holden is the second Buckeye to enter the portal — joining former guard Eugene Brown III, who announced his commitment to Georgia Southern Tuesday. Holden averaged 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game in his only season in Columbus.

The move comes after a season in which the Wheelersburg, OH. native never really was given a defined role.

He transferred to Ohio State as a scorer, averaging 16.1 points in 92 career games at Wright State and 20.1 points per game in his junior season, but never found enough floor time to put those talents on display.

Holden's season high came in the first game of the year, as he notched 12 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting mark from the field against Robert Morris Nov. 7, 2022.

Holden hit the game-winning 3-pointer against Rutgers Dec. 8, 2022, on his only made shot of the game.

Ohio State has also added two transfers this offseason in former Minnesota forward Jamison Battle and former Baylor guard Dale Bonner. Those moves will be coupled with four incoming freshmen — maybe five if Bronny James commits to Ohio State — in the recruiting class of 2023.
