Ohio State OT Duo Given 1st Round NFL Draft Grades?
The road to the 2023 NFL Draft has already begun for a number of former Ohio State Buckeyes. As many as nine players from Ohio State hope to hear their names called during the three-day event.
Among the three Buckeyes expected to be drafted this coming April, two will be former starting offensive tackles Paris Johnson Jr. and Dewand Jones. Both were standouts on arguably the best offensive line in college football this past fall. But where do Johnson and Jones rank on NFL Draft boards?
According to Sports Illustrated's Draft Bible's latest offensive line big board, the pairing could be first-round picks. Draft Bible ranks Johnson as the second-best offensive tackle on the board, just behind Northwestern's Peter Skoronski, while Jones is ranked fourth. Both Johnson and Jones were given first-round grades from Draft Bible.
"At offensive tackle, a trio of players appear to be jockeying for OT1 status. The most polished of the bunch would be Peter Skoronski of Northwestern, who is technically sound but has drawn frowns for his lack of prototypical size/length. Measuring in at nearly two whole inches taller would be Paris Johnson Jr. of Ohio State, whose mechanics aren’t quite up to snuff with Skoronski but Johnson Jr. checks off all the boxes from a scouting perspective."

Jones's recent participation in the Reese's Senior Bowl may have helped boost his stock, as he made waves with his 6-foot-8, 375-pound frame to go along with his record-long 89-inch wingspan, the longest in Senior Bowl history.
