Ohio State Women's Lacrosse Names Amanda Moore New Head Coach

The Ohio State Buckeyes have not had a 10-win season since 2016.

Ohio State women's lacrosse announced Tuesday that Amanda Moore would become the fourth head coach in program history, according to a release.

Moore replaces Amy Bokker, who was fired after four seasons and combining for a 23-32 record and a 6-18 mark in Big Ten play. Moore joins the Buckeyes after seven years as East Carolina's first-ever head coach, leading the Pirates to their first winning season in the program's six-year history.

“My immediate sense, after meeting with so many Buckeyes, was a confirmation that the people and student-athletes at Ohio State are truly world-class," Moore said in a statement.

After a four-year career at North Carolina, Moore began her coaching career working with the Buckeyes' goaltenders for two seasons.

“The experience working for Ohio State and Sue Stimmel, the founder of the women’s lacrosse program, cemented my love for leading and teaching student-athletes," Moore said in a statement. "The opportunity to come back as the fourth women’s lacrosse head coach is a full-circle moment. I look forward to connecting with each era of Buckeye lacrosse and forging our next path as a program with the current group of young women."

After her stint in Columbus, she spent a year as Boston University's assistant coach before taking a role on Duke's staff for five years until her first head coaching gig in Greenville, NC.

Moore said in a statement that there is "so much to be proud of and celebrate if you are an Ohio State fan."

"Our women’s lacrosse program wants to add to the people, the tradition and the excellence of our athletics department’s rich history," Moore said. "It is our goal to pursue comprehensive excellence and look to find ways to be our best on and off the field as student-athletes and staff."
