Ex-Buckeyes Safety Jahsen Wint Commits to Marshall Following Court Decision
Former Ohio State Buckeyes safety announced the resumption of his college football career on Sunday when he posted a video committing to play at Marshall.
The Brookyln, New York-native played four seasons with the Buckeyes from 2016 to 2019, during which he recorded almost 40 tackles.
Wint was dismissed from the football team and had his degree withheld in February of 2020 when criminal charges were brought against him and teammate Amir Reip.
The pair of defensive backs waited three years for a chance to prove their innocence in court. When Wint and Reip were finally able to present their defense however, the trial took only three days before a verdict was reached.
Earlier this year, on February 9, both Wint and Reip were found by a Franklin County jury to be not guilty on all charges.
"I'm going to get my life back on track, get my degree and keep on being a law-abiding citizen," Wint told the Columbus Dispatch at the time.
Picking up where he left off on the football field, even if it is with a new squad. the Thundering Herd is the clearest place to start for Wint.
Reip also announced the continuing of his gridiron career, joining head coach Jamey Chadwell and co-defensive coordinator Skylor Magee as a member of the Liberty Flames.
