Marvin Harrison Sr. Says Son Will 'Be Ready' for NFL
Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center catching passes at Pro Day for No. 1-pick-hopeful C.J. Stroud.
Perhaps Wednesday was a little foreshadowing of what's to come a year from now, as Harrison is likely to be one of the best pass catchers in all of college football next season and a first-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
His father, 13-year Indianapolis Colt and Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison Sr. was in attendance for Pro Day but said afterward he's not worried about the next level for Jr.
"I just worry about the current situation, which is to help the university win as many games possible," Marvin Harrison Sr. said. "When the day comes, you know, his professional career, whether it's next year or two years, I'm sure he'll be ready and make a good impression for those guys if that ever happens."
Marvin Harrison Jr. had one of the greatest seasons in program history his second year in Columbus, in which he caught 77 passes for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns, but said on March 9 that he wants to be better in 2023.
“There's always room to get better everywhere. Whether that’s getting in and out of your breaks faster, ball skills,” Marvin Harrison Jr. said. “I think one thing in particular that I've kind of focused on was just making plays after the catch."
