Toughness of Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Notre Dame Impressed Kyle McCord

Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was impressive despite low productivity vs. Notre Dame
In this story:

The Ohio State Buckeyes got their biggest win of the young season on Saturday night when they marched into South Bend and took down the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in primetime.

What is perhaps even more impressive, is that they did so despite a less than ideal statistical showing from their top offensive threat, Marvin Harrison Jr.

That said, Harrison Jr. still found a way to make an impact on the game - even with what looked like a quite painful injury.

And that display of toughness seriously impressed his quarterback and former high school teammate, Kyle McCord.

"He could have easily just preserved himself in that moment, but that's not who he is," McCord said. "It's not the type of competitor that he is. For him to come back and still have an impact and make plays right away and have that huge catch on the last drive, I think that gives you everything you need to know about Marvin."

Harrison Jr. first went down with the injury early in the second half of the Buckeyes win and had to be helped off of the field.

The injury would later be diagnosed as a sprained ankle.

Were it any other receiver, it's hard to believe they would have even been able to return. But in Harrison Jr.'s case, it seemed to not even phase him.

"I went back and watched the film after he got hurt. You really can’t tell a difference," McCord said. "That says a lot about him pushing through that injury."

The good news for the Buckeyes? Harrison Jr. was back at practice this week.

And by all accounts, looked just fine catching passes from Ohio State's Monarch machine.
