Buckeyes, Hartline Covet 4-Star WR TJ Moore 'In the Worst Way'

Blue-chip wide receiver recruit set for first impression of Columbus
In this story:

One of the best in the Sunshine State is hitting his stride on the recruiting trail.

Since last fall, class of 2024 Tampa (Fla.) Catholic wide receiver T.J. Moore has seen his stock soar with scholarship offers and plenty more, with a busy stretch still ahead. Nearly four dozen programs have seen enough from the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder to extend an offer his way.

Ohio State jumped into the race in January and now the first trip Moore takes to Columbus is being set up. It looks like an official visit will also pair as a first impression this summer.

"I'm going to take a break for a few weeks," Moore told Buckeyes Now recently. "I'll probably wait until June to start making visits again, that will be my OVs.

"I know I'm going to Clemson, USC, Ohio State, those I know for right now."

The Buckeye angle is simple relative to the four-star emerger -- come be next up under Brian Hartline.

"Coach Hartline said he's going for the most elite receivers and he wants me in the worst way possible," Moore said. "I've got to go see what that's like.

"You see Coach Hartline's production, he coaches so many good wide receivers, too. First rounders. If he can do that, I know for a fact he can get me to the NFL."

Moore recently visited Florida, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M over the last month or so, all while competing as a multi-event standout in track and field.

After the run of official visits, Moore says he will work with an undefined timeline relative to a college commitment.

The breakout prospect had a banner 2022 season at Tampa Catholic, registering 42 catches for 1,012 yards and 13 touchdowns. Moore is rated four-stars across the industry, ranked as high as the nation's No. 21 wide receiver recruit (247Sports).

Ohio State already has verbal commitment from a pair of five-star receivers in Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham in the class of 2024.
