Texas OL Recruit Daniel Cruz Planning Ohio State Official Visit
ARLINGTON, Texas -- One of the best in the Lone Star State and one of the best interior offensive line projections in the class of 2024, Daniel Cruz has plenty of college football options to choose from.
The North Richland Hills (Texas) Richland standout, listed just under 6-foot-4, 295 pounds, has collected some 30 scholarship offers as he gears up for his final offseason as a prep prospect.
Naturally, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and area programs are heavy on his trail, but the rising-senior recruit is considering those further from home on that same front.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are among those programs and soon, each party will get intimate time with one another. Speaking after a rock solid performance at the Under Armour Next All-America camp outside of Dallas Sunday, Cruz confirmed plans to get to Columbus for an official visit.
"I'm trying to get to Ohio State," Cruz told Fan Nation's Matt Galatzan on site. "They dug into my film and have told me the things I was doing right, some things I was doing wrong.
"They want to sit down and show me how they can develop me."
Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye has long held Cruz in high regard, initially offering the Texan a scholarship last May.
OSU has the chance to heat up on the recruiting trail this offseason, though the offensive line foundation already exits. Top 100 prospect Ian Moore and recent in-state commitment Marc Nave Jr. are already verbally committed to Ryan Day's program in the 2024 class.
