Oklahoma State Cowboys Open as Short Underdogs to Ranked Kansas Jayhawks

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are currently short underdogs to Kansas, who was recently ranked again in the AP Poll.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are coming off a 29-21 upset win over the Kansas State Wildcats on Friday night, which could set the Cowboys in the right direction after a rocky start to the season.

Their next opponent -- the Kansas Jayhawks -- is coming off a win against UCF, a new Big 12 opponent. They were ranked in the AP Poll once again, coming in at No. 23 this week.

So, the Cowboys are in for yet another battle this upcoming Saturday. With the opening odds coming out, the Cowboys are one-point underdogs to the Jayhawks this weekend.

This, obviously, is much closer odds than one would have anticipated heading into this matchup, but it makes sense. Jalon Daniels has dealt with injuries this season, missing the last couple of games. This would drastically change how both teams approach this game.

The Jayhawks are coming off a win against UCF where they threw the ball just 12 total times for 91 yards. Jason Bean completed eight of those passes. In return, they rushed the ball 51 times for 399 yards.

If Daniels is out again, the Cowboys should know what approach the Jayhawks will want to take. In turn, the Cowboys did an incredible job against Kansas State's offense which was having a good season heading into the matchup.

The Cowboys will be no rollover in this matchup. Their offense looks improved and their defense absolutely showed out against the Wildcats. While there remain to be holes, it seems like a lot of the early season flashes are being worked out to be more consistent.

The Jayhawks, on the other hand, are still 5-1 on the season. They're going to be a tough opponent for the Cowboys and are ranked for a reason. This game will be crucial for Oklahoma State, who saw a huge shift in momentum in their win this past week. The Big 12 could see a big shakeup if the Cowboys see another upset.
