OXFORD, Miss. -- Already eliminated from participating in the SEC Tournament this season, the Ole Miss Rebels have also canceled their final midweek game of the season against the Austin Peay Governors, the school announced on Sunday.

According to the press release from the Rebels, the two teams "mutually agreed" to cancel the game originally slated for Tuesday evening.

After being swept by the Auburn Tigers over the weekend, Ole Miss is now officially eliminated from playing in the SEC Tournament in the 2023 season after winning the national championship last summer. The Rebels' overall record (25-26) has now fallen below .500 for the first time this season, and in conference play, Ole Miss sits with a mark of 6-21 with one series remaining.

The Rebels will travel to Tuscaloosa and face the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend to conclude its season. That series is set to begin on Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

Following that slate in Alabama, Ole Miss and head coach Mike Bianco will look to remedy the issues that plagued them this spring following a historic run in 2022 that led to the national championship.
