LOOK: Ole Miss Men's Basketball SEC Opponents For 2023-24 Announced, Dates TBD
The Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team has a lot of excitement around the program heading into next season.
They have a new program mantra "Culture Est. 2023," will welcome the No. 9 transfer portal class and, now, they know the locations of their 18 Southeastern Conference games for next season, according to a release. The Rebels will play eight teams once — four at home and four on the road — and five teams twice.
Ole Miss will play Alabama, Arkansas, Florida and Vanderbilt only at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion, while traveling to Georgia, Kentucky, LSU and Tennessee.
The Rebels will have both home and road games against Auburn, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
The dates, times and TV schedules for each of these matchups will be released at a later date.
Last season, the Rebels had an abysmal conference showing, going 3-15 in regular-season SEC play and finishing 13th. Their only regular-season conference wins were against last season's standings bottom feeders in Georgia, South Carolina and LSU.
The Rebels advanced to the second round of the SEC Tournament with a 67-61 win against the Gamecocks before losing to Tennessee 70-55.
Since the SEC disbanded basketball divisions in 2011, the Rebels have more 12th-or-worse finishes (4) than top-five finishes (3).
