Ole Miss, Chris Beard Land Commitment From Ex-Oklahoma State Center Moussa Cisse
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team, quite literally, earned a massive commitment on Sunday morning. According to On3Sports, former Oklahoma State Cowboys center Moussa Cisse has committed to Ole Miss and first-year head coach Chris Beard.
The 7-foot-1, 220-pound center spent the last two seasons playing for the Cowboys and started his college career with the Memphis Tigers.
A former five-star recruit in the 2020 cycle, Cisse has averaged 6.9 points, 1.8 blocks, and 7.0 rebounds per game in his career. The Conarky, Guinea, native led the Cowboys in rebounds last season with 8.0 boards per game on the way to a seventh-place finish in the Big 12 with an overall record of 20-16. Cisse was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 as a sophomore.
Cisse quickly confirmed the report with a social media post of his own.
The Ole Miss frontcourt has gone through a gigantic renovation since Beard arrived on campus in March. Cisse will be paired with former Western Kentucky Hilltoppers center Jamarion Sharp, who transferred to Ole Miss on April 27, who also happens to be 7-5 and 235 pounds. Cisse and Sharp give the Rebels two towering big men to rotate at the center position who possess the skill and size to control the paint on both offense and defense.
Cisse is Beard's fourth commitment via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason.
