OXFORD, Miss. -- It is rivalry night in Mississippi, as the Ole Miss Rebels are set to host the Mississippi State Bulldogs for a game of basketball on Tuesday night in the Sandy and John Black Pavilion. It is the beginning of a new chapter in this historic rivalry, as both Ole Miss and Mississippi State are now led by two of the best coaches in the sport: Chris Beard and Chris Jans, respectively.

Ole Miss (17-3, 4-3 SEC) is on a two-game win streak after facing some challenges on the road to start Southeastern Conference play, while Mississippi State (14-6, 3-4 SEC) is coming off a huge upset over the No. 8 Auburn Tigers. The Bulldogs will not be an easy opponent, as Mississippi State also toppled the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers earlier this month.

Entering Wednesday's matchup, the Rebels are averaging 76.5 points per game, while the Bulldogs are averaging 74.2 ppg. Matthew Murrell leads Ole Miss in scoring with an average of 16.6 ppg.
