Ole Miss Rebels Lose Second-Straight SEC Matchup to Texas A&M Aggies

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball team lost its second-straight Southeastern Conference matchup on Thursday night, losing to the Texas A&M Aggies 72-53 in the Sandy and John Black Pavilion. 

Ole Miss kept it close in the first half, as they entered the locker room at halftime only down 35-29, but hope quickly evaporated when the Aggies extended their lead over the Rebels to 50-34 at the three minute mark.

Senior forward Madison Scott led the Rebels in scoring versus Texas A&M with 15 points, and fellow senior forward Snudda Collins joined her in double digits with 14. Collins and Scott both led the Rebels in minutes played with 37 and 36, respectively.

As a team, Ole Miss shot 36 percent from the field and 45 from three compared to percentages of 45 and 40 from Texas A&M, respectively.

Ole Miss Crushed on the Road by No. 1 South Carolina

The loss gives Ole Miss a 16-7 overall record (6-4 SEC) and a two-game losing streak, after falling to the No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks last Sunday.

Ole Miss will now prepare to travel to Gainesville to battle the Florida Gators in the Exactech Arena on Thursday, Feb. 15. The Gators currently hold a 12-9 overall record (3-6 SEC), and have to play the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville before they host Ole Miss. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on SEC Network+.
