STANFORD, Calif. -- The Ole Miss Rebels dominated the Gonzaga Bulldogs in round one of the women's NCAA Tournament on Friday night, picking up a 71-48 win to advance to the Round of 32.

This win marked Ole Miss' first victory in the NCAA Tournament since 2007, a year where the program also reached the Elite Eight, the farthest the team has ever advanced in the postseason. Following that 2007 run, Ole Miss did not reach the tournament again until 2022.

Snudda Collins led the Rebels in scoring on Friday night with 15 points, and she was joined in double digits by Angel Baker and Madison Scott. As a whole, Ole Miss shot 37.9 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from three, but some of its biggest moments, as has been the case all season, came on defense.

The Rebels held Gonzaga to a 29.3 shooting percentage from the field and an abysmal 5.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Rebels' mantra all season has been "We Defend," and head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin's team reached that mark on Friday night.

With the win, the Rebels now advance to the next round of the tournament, and it will face the one-seed Stanford Cardinal on Sunday night to try and advance to the Sweet 16. Tip-off between the two teams is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT in Stanford, Calif., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
