Rebels Pick Up 12th Straight Win in Domination of Southern Miss
The No. 25 Ole Miss Rebels remained undefeated on Saturday following a convincing 89-72 win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
The Rebels (12-0) led 47-30 at halftime of Saturday's game, and although both teams scored exactly 42 points after the intermission, Ole Miss' halftime lead was more than enough to come away with the win. Matthew Murrell led Ole Miss with 26 points on the day, and he was joined with big scoring performances from Jaylen Murray (21) and Jaemyn Brakefield (15).
As a team, Ole Miss shot 49.2 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from three in the win. Southern Miss, by comparison, shot 47.7 and 46.7 percent in those categories, respectively.
With the win, Ole Miss remains undefeated in the Chris Beard era in Oxford, and it will return to action on New Year's Eve when it plays host to Bryant at the SJB Pavilion.
