The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be without their second leading receiver Chase Lane this week when they travel to take on the No. 17 Ole Miss Rebels, SI's All Yellow Jackets reported on Tuesday.

Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key broke the news during his press conference this week.

"Chase will be out this week," Key said. "We will continue to kinda see week-to-week with him and where it ends up. It is not a season-ending injury by any means."

Even though it's not season-ending, Lane's absence will certainly be a blow to the Tech offense as it faces Pete Golding's defense on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets currently have the second-best passing attack in the ACC through two games, averaging 311.5 YPG, and they are fourth in total offense.

Both Lane and quarterback Haynes King came to Atlanta from the Texas A&M Aggies this offseason, and they have apparently had solid chemistry to this point on their new roster. Lane has hauled in six receptions for 105 yards and a score so far this season.

The Rebels defense was a large part in the team's success against the then-ranked Tulane Green Wave last week. While the Ole Miss offense struggled to find a rhythm in the first half, Pete Golding's unit kept the Rebels in the game and forced some turnovers late that helped seal the 37-20 win on the road.

Ole Miss and Georgia Tech are slated to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network this Saturday in Oxford.
