Breaking: Georgia Tech wide receiver Chase Lane out for matchup against Ole Miss
Georgia Tech is going to be without its second-leading receiver this weekend as it travels to Oxford to take on Ole Miss.
Today during his weekly press conference, Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key said that ChaseLane will be out this week:
"Chase will be out this week. We will continue to kinda see week-to-week with him and where it ends up. It is not a season-ending injury by any means."
Lane and quarterback Haynes King have made a seamless transition to this offense after both players came over from Texas A&M, but Lane will unfortunately not be able to suit up for this weekend. King and this offense have been spreading the ball around this year and guys like Malik Rutherford, Eric Singleton Jr, Christian Leary, and Dominick Blaylock will have to step up and replace Lane's big-plays ability because he is currently averaging over 17 yards per catch.
The Yellow Jackets currently have the second-ranked passing attack in the ACC through two games, averaging 311.5 YPG and they are fourth in total offense, trailing only Syracuse, Louisville, and Clemson. They will be challenged by the Ole Miss defense this weekend though in their first road game.
Georgia Tech is currently a 19.5-point underdog vs. Ole Miss on SI Sportsbook. Kickoff is set for 7:30 and will be televised on the SEC Network.
