Georgia Tech's Kyle Kennard named ACC Defensive lineman of the week
Georgia Tech dominated vs South Carolina State this past weekend, especially on the offensive end. However, it was the defensive side of the football where the Yellow Jackets got some recognition, as defensive end Kyle Kennard was named the ACC's defensive lineman of the week today.
Kennard was a turnover-forcing maching on Saturday for the Yellow Jackets defense, intercepting a pass, forcing a fumble, and recovering a fumble. He was only the second Georgia Tech player since 2000 to do that, with the other being Bruce Jordan-Swilling in 2017.
This is the first time in his career that Kennard has been honored by the ACC.
Kennard is going to have to keep up his level of play as the competition stiffens, but it was a great performance for the Yellow Jackets defensive lineman.
Georgia Tech returns to the field this Saturday against Ole Miss. Kick off will be at 7:30 on SEC Network.
