It's not common for North Mississippi to have an abundance of snow, but it has become increasingly common for the Ole Miss Rebels to land talent out of the transfer portal. Those two storylines intersected on Tuesday.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin tweeted a photo of a snow-covered Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Tuesday morning, claiming that he and the staff were going "ice fishing" for some talent. You can view the post below.

"Stay tuned ⁦@OleMissFB," Kiffin said. "I feel a bite coming on!!!"

The Rebels gained some strong commitments out of the portal over the weekend, including Virginia Tech Hokies tight end Dae'Quan Wright and South Alabama Jaguars safety Yam Banks. They also made noise in the initial transfer portal cycle, landing the likes of wide receiver Juice Wells (South Carolina), defensive lineman Walter Nolen (Texas A&M) and defensive end Princely Umanmielen (Florida).

Ole Miss Lands Another Talented Transfer From The ACC

Ole Miss is coming off one of the best seasons in program history in 2023, finishing with an all-time high of 11 wins and securing a victory in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. That momentum has carried to the recruiting trail...even if snow and ice try to stand in the way.
