Ole Miss Gains Commitment From South Alabama Transfer Safety Yam Banks

The Ole Miss Rebels gained another transfer commitment on Sunday afternoon in the form of safety Yam Banks.

The Ole Miss Rebels continued their momentum in the transfer portal on Sunday, securing a commitment from South Alabama Jaguars transfer safety Yam Banks.

On3 was the first to report the commitment news, and Banks joins other transfer DBs in the form of Tahveon Nicholson (Illinois), Louis Moore (Indiana), and Key Lawrence (Oklahoma).

Banks' commitment is the second transfer snag for the Rebels on the day, also landing Virginia Tech Hokies transfer tight end Dae'Quan Wright.

The safety is a native of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and in his collegiate career, he has totaled 147 tackles, 91 of which are solo. He has also hauled in seven interceptions over the course of four seasons.

Banks played his prep ball at Ridgeland High School, and he was a three-star recruit entering the college ranks, rated as the No. 61 player in the state of Mississippi. A part of the 2020 recruiting class, he committed to South Alabama on Dec. 18, 2019.
