Elite Defensive Lineman Kamarion Franklin Officially Signs With Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. – 2024 four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin is officially an Ole Miss Rebel after signing his national letter of intent with the program on Wednesday, and the recruitment for the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi has finally ended.
Franklin previously announced his commitment to the Rebels in August, and stayed true to his commitment all the way to signing day.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect is the crown jewel of the Rebels’ 2024 high school class and is rated as the No. 8 defensive lineman in the cycle and the No. 1 recruit in Mississippi, according to On3.
The Lake Cormorant, Miss., native was set on joining the Auburn Tigers before Ole Miss made a late push and secured the No. 1 talent in the Magnolia State for the second year in a row.
Over the course of four years at Lake Cormorant, Franklin has accumulated 225 total tackles, 143 of which have been solo. He also has 42.5 tackles for loss on his ledger and 33 sacks, 17 of which came in the 2022 season. The elite defensive lineman also registered four interceptions during the 2021 season.
Prior to his commitment in August, Franklin expressed why Ole Miss was one of his top schools.
“The ability to put on for my state, put my state on my back," Franklin said. "A lot of Mississippi kids, we don’t get that opportunity, it’s hard, so just showing the upcoming kids — the next No. 1 player in the state — just showing them what you could do for home.”
Franklin chose to sign with Ole Miss over Auburn, as well as the Miami Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida State Seminoles, and a plethora of other top programs around college football.
