Lane Kiffin Remains Non-Committal on Naming QB1 for Rebels' Season Opener

Ole Miss opens its season on Saturday against the Mercer Bears, but Lane Kiffin has still not officially named a starting quarterback with the media.
In this story:

OXFORD, Miss. -- He may already know who his starting quarterback is, but Lane Kiffin is not budging: he has not named one officially just yet.

Kiffin was made available to the media on Monday to kick off game week for the Ole Miss Rebels, and he remains steadfast that he likes what he has seen out of both Jaxson Dart and Spencer Sanders to this point, so much so that he did not say who would start the game against the Mercer Bears on Saturday.

"We've not made that final decision," Kiffin said. "We're very excited about all the guys. As far as the starter, that's between two people. Both guys played extremely well and made very explosive plays on Saturday. Managed the offense well. We feel very confident with either of them."

It may mean nothing, but it also may mean something that shortly after this comment hit social media, quarterback Jaxson Dart tweeted out a "yawning" emoji from his account.

It has been reported by multiple outlets that Dart is likely to be the Rebels' starting quarterback again this season, but perhaps Kiffin will throw a curveball in the first few weeks of the season. Ole Miss opens its campaign at home against Mercer on Saturday with a 1 p.m. kickoff on SEC Network+.
