Welcome to the Morning Report, a piece from The Grove Report that highlights the news from the day surrounding the Ole Miss Rebels.

Today is July 22, 2023, and here's the news you need to know out of Oxford.

1. Ole Miss was picked to finish fourth in the SEC West by the media following SEC Media Days.

The Rebels were the lone team to not receive a first-place vote in the West, but they finished in the middle of the pack of the division in the projections. You can see the full list here.

2. Jaxson Dart received praise from Lane Kiffin and Quinshon Judkins at SEC Media Days.

Dart's leadership and improvement under center were discussed during the Rebels' time in Nashville this week. Will he remain the Ole Miss starting quarterback for another year?

3. Lane Kiffin discussed his relationship with Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian at the podium at SEC Media Days.

Kiffin and Sarkisian have similar stops over the course of their career, and with Texas joining the SEC next season, this relationship will be a new storyline beginning in 2024.

4. The Grove Report staff provides preseason predictions for Ole Miss' matchup against the Auburn Tigers.
