Nick Saban Raves On 'Fantastic Job' Done By Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss

Saban gave positive reviews of his former offensive coordinator earlier this week.

Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban have a unique relationship.

The duo worked together from 2014-16 with the Alabama Crimson Tide, but now, Kiffin serves as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, and they will face off once again on Saturday.

In media availability earlier this week, Saban heaped praise on his former offensive coordinator and the job he has done since arriving in Oxford.

"I think they're outstanding obviously," Saban told reporters to start the week. "They're fourth in the country or something like that in total offense and scoring, you know, 52 points a game and 526 yards. So, you know, Lane's an offensive guy and did a great job when he was here.

"And he's done a great job there," he added. "The players do a great job of executing on which is always a good sign of a, you know, well-coached team and I think he's done a fantastic job there."

Kiffin has never been shy about praising his former boss, either, even after a rough start to the season for the vaunted Crimson Tide in 2023. Even so, Kiffin did admit that he feels somewhat better about his chances on Saturday since Bryce Young is no longer the Tide's quarterback.

"Well it's good to know Bryce won't be there," Kiffin said. "That's very positive. I mean, we all got our issues and, you know, this is one of the best teams or the best team in the last 15 years and one of the hardest places to play. Just because Texas won one in there, I mean, it didn't get easier.

"So it's a huge challenge, a dynasty and gotta do a lot of work to be able to be on the field with those guys. [They have] premier recruiting classes of five star players everywhere."

Ole Miss and Alabama are scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. The game will be televised on CBS.
