2024 Three-Star Safety Anthony Robinson Visiting Ole Miss with LSU and Notre Dame in Pursuit
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels have been busy recruiting prospects to fill out their 2024 signing class, and they could possibly be on the verge of earning their tenth commitment of the cycle, per On3.
The Rebels are set to host three-star safety Anthony Robinson on Friday for an official visit, one of the top targets for new defensive coordinator Pete Golding and safeties coach Wes Neighbors.
According to the On3 recruitment database, Robinson is rated as the No. 47 safety in the 2024 cycle and the No. 11 prospect in the state of Louisiana. The Destrehan, La., native has received two Ole Miss commitment predictions and Robinson recently spoke with On3 about why the Rebels are trending heavily in his recruitment.
"Coach Pete and Coach Neighbors have been pushing me the hardest for sure,” Robinson said. “They’re texting me every day, if not every other day for sure. I’m talking to them three or four times a week and they’re always checking in with me, with my family. We’re having regular conversations and I’ve been hearing from them a lot.”
Golding recruited the three-star safety heavily when he was still coaching with the Alabama Crimson Tide and is still at the center of Robinson's recruitment despite changing work environments this offseason. According to On3's recruiting predictor, the Rebels have a 98.6 percent chance to land Robinson's commitment, something Ole Miss is expected to try and lock up this weekend. But there are still other teams in the race for Robinson's pledge.
Robinson is coming off a camp visit with the LSU Tigers and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are reportedly awaiting an official visit. On3 discussed Notre Dame's final push for Robinson late in his recruitment.
"Notre Dame has traditionally recruited Robinson’s high school at a very high level,” On3 said. “Marcus Freeman recently added Louisiana native Marty Biagi to his coaching staff. Biagi was among Robinson’s lead recruiters at Purdue and also Ole Miss, and he and Notre Dame safeties coach Chris O’Leary have been coming strong for the versatile defensive back.”
