Ole Miss Rebels TE Caden Prieskorn is "Full Go" After Dealing With Early Injuries
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels tight end Caden Prieskorn has only appeared in four games due to an injury suffered at the start of the season, but has made the most of his snaps since returning to the field in Week 4.
In four games, Prieskorn has hauled in six receptions for 125 yards and recorded a season-high 63 yards versus Auburn in his first career start as a Rebel. The senior was available to speak with the media on Monday and feels like he is finally getting adjusted to the offense now that he is healthy.
"Last week was actually the first week I've practiced every day," Prieskorn told reporters. "I finally got over [the injury], this is the best I've felt all season - even through camp. Now we just have to keep things going."
Prieskorn happily mentioned that he is no longer forced to wear the black "non-contact" jersey during practices.
"I'm finally 100 percent, in a red jersey, and full go," Prieskorn said.
With Prieskorn at 100 percent, he got to start versus Auburn and ended the first quarter with a spectacular one-handed catch on the sidelines for a 35-yard gain on a crucial second down. Prieskorn talked about his highlight-reel snag and praised the other playmakers on Ole Miss' offense.
"We tried to get the [defender] over me to bite, but he played me [in man coverage]," Prieskorn said. "Jaxson [Dart] threw a great ball and I just ended up making a play on it. But this offense is awesome. I just love being a part of it. We've got so many great playmakers that you don't know who's going to get the ball. It could be anybody's night."
Prieskorn also previewed the Rebels' Week 9 matchup versus the Vanderbilt Commodores and what sticks out about their defense.
"[Vanderbilt] has a lot of experience," Prieskorn said. "They've got a lot of older dudes who have played a lot of college football and I feel like that helps anywhere in the country. If you've got older guys, there's a lot of good leadership. You see around college football you can be beat any week, so we've got to come prepared and ready to go."
Ole Miss and Vanderbilt are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
