Ole Miss Rebels Rise in CFP Top 25 Following Win Over Mississippi State Bulldogs

Where do the Ole Miss Rebels sit in the latest College Football Playoff rankings after securing their 10th win of the 2023-24 season?

OXFORD, Miss. -- The second-to-last set of College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night, and the Ole Miss Rebels moved up after beating the Mississippi State Bulldogs 17-7 in the annual Egg Bowl.

The CFP selection committee ranked the Rebels No. 11 in the Top 25 after securing their second 10-win regular season in three years under coach Lane Kiffin. Ole Miss now awaits its bowl game decision, which will be revealed on Sunday.

The latest College Football Playoff Poll is listed below with SEC teams highlighted in bold.

The Rebels already achieved program history this season and could reach even greater heights, as this Ole Miss team could be the first in school history to win 11 total games with a postseason victory. 

Ole Miss is still in contention for a New Year's Six bowl berth, but it will likely have to contend with the Missouri Tigers out of the SEC in that department. The formerly No. 10 Louisville Cardinals lost to the Kentucky Wildcats last Saturday, giving the Rebels a better shot at reaching their NY6 aspirations, but chances are still relatively slim.
