Ole Miss Rebels 'Top Contenders' in 2024, Per PFF

Pro Football Focus believes the hype is real for the Ole Miss Rebels entering the 2024 college football season.
In this story:

OXFORD, Miss. -- We have not even finished the 2023-24 season yet, but the hype is already real for the Ole Miss Rebels entering 2024. Thanks to a combination of returning talent and arguably the best transfer portal class in the nation, the Rebels appear to be a serious threat going into next season.

Another benefactor for Ole Miss in 2024 is the 12-team playoff expansion; giving the Rebels a shot at not just making the CFP, but possibly winning it all in 2024. Pro Football Focus recently explained that Ole Miss' returning talent, portal class, and favorable schedule are reasons why the Rebels should not be slept on next season.

The outlet even expressed that Ole Miss' sudden rise is quite similar to that of Florida State's a year ago.

"The 2024 Ole Miss team shares a lot of similarities with 2023 Florida State," PFF wrote. "After finishing No. 11 in 2022 (which the Rebels are currently), the Seminoles returned nearly all of their best players and added a bevy of talent through the transfer portal. As a result, FSU entered the season as my No. 4 team in the country and finished with a 13-1 record.

'Grateful!' Judkins Posts Departure Message to Ole Miss After Entering Transfer Portal

"As we enter the 12-team playoff era, the Rebels shouldn’t just be seen as a contender to simply make the College Football Playoff. They should be seen as one of the top contenders to win the whole thing."

The Rebels will be fielding one of the most talented rosters in the SEC by the time Week 1 rolls around, and Lane Kiffin is not even finished adding players this offseason. Paired with a loaded roster and one of the easier schedules in the SEC, Ole Miss has some serious potential entering 2024.
