Former Rebels TE Evan Engram Signs 3-Year Extension With Jacksonville Jaguars
Former Ole Miss Rebels tight end Evan Engram agreed to a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, according to his agent Mike McCartney.
The deal is worth $41.25 million with $24 million guaranteed, which makes Engram the No. 6 highest-paid tight end by average annual value, according to Spoctrac, trailing Darren Waller, George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Dallas Goedert and Mark Andrews. Engram received the one-year franchise tag by the Jaguars in April and had until 4 p.m. Monday to reach a multi-year extension with Jacksonville.
Engram's franchise tag was worth $11.345 million for one year, so the two-year extension value is for $29.905 million.
The Powder Springs, Ga., native is coming off a career-best year in the NFL in which he had 73 receptions for 766 yards and four touchdowns — all of which were third best on the Jaguars last season.
In 41 games in four years at Ole Miss, Engram had 162 catches for 2,320 yards and 15 touchdowns. His senior season in Oxford, he amassed 926 yards on 65 catches for eight touchdowns, earning All-Southeastern Conference First Team honors in 2016.
He was drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the New York Giants where he spent the first five seasons of his career.
As he enters year seven in the league, he has become one of the NFL's best, racking up 335 catches for 3,594 yards and 20 touchdowns.
