Ole Miss Lands Commitment From 2024 3-Star SAF Anthony Robinson III
Ole Miss Rebels defensive coordinator Pete Golding tweeted a shark emoji Thursday and on Friday three-star safety Andy Jaffe committed.
Sunday morning, Golding tweeted the same emoji and later that afternoon three-star safety Anthony Robinson III became the latest Landshark, announcing his commitment on Twitter. Golding has done this throughout the offseason, so whenever he hits send on a tweet that features the animated predator, good things are likely in store for Ole Miss.
Robinson chose the Rebels over Notre Dame, TCU and Mississippi State, while holding 14 Football Bowl Subdivision offers.
Robinson played in all three phases last season, scoring on a pick six and a kickoff return en route to a Louisiana state title with Destrehan High School.
He shows exceptional closing speed and tackling abilities in the open field, pursuing on would-be ball-carriers looking to turn the corner. He also has solid ball skills, showing the ability to play in a hybrid safety-linebacker role where he can line up at the line of scrimmage and defend the run, rush the passer or drop in coverage.
Robinson stands 6-1 and weighs 190 pounds, ranking as the No. 49 safety and the 11th-best player in Louisiana in the class of 2024, according to On3 Industry.
He is the Rebels' 15th commitment in the 2024 cycle and the fifth in the last eight days
