Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M: Keys To The Game in Week 10

The Ole Miss Rebels and Texas A&M Aggies went down to the wire last year, and here's what both teams have to do when they square off Nov. 4.
In this story:

In College Station a season ago, the Ole Miss Rebels came away with a 31-28 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies.

The theme at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is for the fans to wear red for when Ole Miss takes the field against the Aggies. We know what the fans need to do, but here's what both teams have to do if they want to come away with a win on Nov. 4.

Ole Miss wins if...

... it runs the ball.

That was the recipe for success last season, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Running back Quinshon Judkins returns for his sophomore season as one of the best ball-carriers in the country.

Judkins ran for 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns in year one, being named to the First Team All-Southeastern Conference. That level of production was evident against the Aggies last season.

The Pike Road, Ala., native ran for 205 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries against Texas A&M.

If the Rebels can set the game's pace and run the ball effectively, it will open up their potent passing game that is set to show itself in 2023.

Texas A&M wins if...

... it finds one more score.

That's obvious right? Well, the Aggies were one score away from picking up their sixth win of the season and becoming bowl eligible last season.

With De'Von Achane, Texas A&M couldn't find the end zone on the ground, but instead got it done through the air. Now without him, can either Amari Daniels, Le'Veon Moss or Rueben Owens score a touchdown?

Quarterback Conner Weigman had a career-best day, throwing for 338 yards on 44 attempts with four touchdowns. With Weigman back under center in 2023, he should be more comfortable and in-sync with his receiving corps in his sophomore season.

However, if Texas A&M eclipses the 30-point threshold, it will have a shot.

Ole Miss was 1-4 when allowing at least 30 points, so the Aggies will need to find one more score than they did in their 28-point showing last year against the Rebels.
