Ole Miss Rebels' Lane Kiffin Evaluates Preparedness For Penn State Nittany Lions

Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin had the opportunity to discuss his team's preparation for the Peach Bowl during his press conference on Tuesday.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels are set to take on the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 30, and the team had the opportunity to accept their invitation to the illustrious bowl game on Tuesday.

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin took time from practices and an extremely busy recruitment schedule to address the media during the official press conference, and talked about his team's preparation for their first-ever matchup versus Penn State.

"It's been a challenge with our own practice, preparing for the game, and then the recruiting schedule," Kiffin told reporters. "We're a little more familiar [with Penn State], we're still not all the way into game planning with our players yet.

"As we knew right away, a great defense led by their front. Now learning more, they have a really balanced offense that can really run the ball. Quarterback really takes care of the ball. This will probably be one of those games you got to play really well in all areas to go down to the wire and make some plays at the end."

The Peach Bowl is shaping up to be one of the better matchups of the 2023-24 college football bowl season, and with the Nittany Lions currently favored by 3.5-points, it is starting to feel like this game could be decided in the final seconds. 

A win for the Rebels would grant them their first-ever 11-win season in program history and Kiffin's first NY6 victory with the team.

Kickoff between Ole Miss and Penn State is set for 11 a.m. CT at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
