Lane Kiffin Wishes Former Ole Miss Rebels LB Austin Keys Luck in Hilarious Exchange

Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin poked fun at one of his former players after the road victory over the Auburn Tigers.
In this story:

OXFORD, Miss. -- Sometimes in life, we find out the hard way that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Auburn Tigers linebacker Austin Keys found that out on Saturday night, when his former team, the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels, won 28-21 in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Keys, a redshirt junior, was originally a member of Ole Miss' 2020 recruitment class before he entered the Portal in January and elected to transfer to Auburn.

Once he was a Tiger, Keys took to social media to posit his satisfaction with his new home.

"The grass way greener." - Keys said via Twitter.

Fast forward to Saturday after the game, and Ole Miss Twitter was letting Keys know that he had made a mistake, including the Rebels' unofficial mascot Juice.

Juice's account replied to Keys' post with a picture of the dog hanging out in greener pastures. Credit to Keys, as the former Ole Miss Rebel stood by his statement and did not delete the post, but rather gave a hilarious response.

Keys replied with a meme that implies he should probably delete the post, showing the trash talk was all in good fun with no malintent.

Lane Kiffin admired Keys' playfulness on social media and later responded to his former player, wishing him the best.

"He can't be bought. 😂 Best of luck the rest of the year!!" -- Kiffin via Twitter.

In three seasons with the Rebels, the Seminary, Miss., native recorded 51 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, and two sacks. Through six games with the Tigers, Keys has registered six tackles in two appearances versus Ole Miss and the UMass Minute Men.
