Ex-Ole Miss Rebels WR Laquon Treadwell Signs with Baltimore Ravens

Former Ole Miss Rebels receiver Laquon Treadwell was recently signed by the Baltimore Ravens.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Baltimore Ravens announced via social media that the team officially signed former Ole Miss Rebels receiver Laquon Treadwell on Tuesday. Treadwell spent the 2022-23 NFL season with the Seattle Seahawks, recording six receptions, 42 receiving yards, and 7.0 yards per catch in six games. The former Rebel also spent time on the practice squads of the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots last season.

Treadwell was selected No. 23 overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 2016 but never lived up to the first-round hype. "Megaquon" only registered 65 receptions, 701 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in four seasons with the Vikings before he started bouncing around the league. Since his contract expired with Minnesota, Treadwell has played for the Atlanta Falcons (2020), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021), and now possibly Baltimore - if he makes the final 53-man roster.

According to Baltimore coach John Harbaugh, Treadwell will "be in the mix" for a roster spot.

"[He's] really a determined guy – wants to be really good," Harbaugh told reporters. "[He's] physical in practice and worked hard in the workout. He came out here and pretty much knew what he was doing, after getting here less than 24 hours ago. He didn't make a mistake out there. I think that says a lot about who he is."

Treadwell, the all-time leading pass catcher in Ole Miss history with 202 receptions, was considered first-round talent after he hauled in 82 passes for 1,153 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. Treadwell was the first Rebel to ever be named a Biletnikoff Award finalist in 2015.
